Tappan Zee Bridge Toll Set To Increase: Here's When, How Much
Drivers crossing the new Tappan Zee Bridge will soon face a higher toll, according to the New York State Thruway Authority. The increase will go into effect on Wednesday, Jan. 1, with a 50-cent hike to the base NY E-ZPass toll rates and tolls-by-mail that began in 2024 and will continue each year through 2027, when it hits $7.75. Overturned Vehicle Closes Both Directions Of Route 22 In North Salem
A crash involving an overturned vehicle has left all lanes of a busy Northern Westchester roadway closed. The crash happened on Thursday, Dec. 5 at around 5:15 p.m., when a vehicle flipped on Route 22 in North Salem between Sun Valley Drive and Sun Valley Heights Road near Interstate 684, according to reports. The incident has left both directions of Route 22 closed. The crash caused injuries, according to preliminary reports. More information has not yet been released by authorities. Record Travel Expected This Thanksgiving: Here Are Best, Worst Times To Hit Road

Hudson Valley Bridge Reopened to Traffic Following Construction
A Hudson Valley bridge has reopened to traffic following replacement of the old structure. The Dutchess County Department of Public Works announced that the replacement of a bridge on Ridge Road in the town of Dover had been completed, and the structure had been opened to traffic. Work on the bridge began in the Spring and included replacing the structure, located over the Mill River near the intersection of Cooperstown Road, with a new, wider bridge that includes three-foot shoulders and slightly straightening the surrounding roadway to improve motorists' safety. Roadwork is scheduled for a busy stretch of I-684in Northern Westchester. $32M Resurfacing Project Begins On I-287 In Westchester
Work has commenced on a multi-million dollar project that will restore a well-used stretch of highway in Westchester, officials announced. In an announcement this week, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said a $32.4 million resurfacing project has started on a 5.5-mile stretch of Interstate 287 (Cross Westchester Expressway) between Westchester Avenue in Harrison and Route 1 in Rye. Traffic Alert: Bridge Replacement To Close Roadway In Region
Drivers should note that a section of a Sullivan County roadway will be closed for a bridge replacement. The replacement will occur in the town of Cochecton on County Road 115—Odell Road. The bridge is located immediately west of the intersection of Fred White Road with County Road 115, said Dan Hurst, spokesman for Sullivan County. This section of the roadway is scheduled to be closed to all traffic starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, and will remain closed for approximately three weeks. Part of a well-traveled roadway in the Hudson Valley will close to traffic for several days as a railroad crossing is replaced. Beginning on Friday, Aug. 9 at 11:59 p.m., Route 312 in the Putnam County village of Brewster will close at the Dykeman Railroad Crossing next to the intersection with Ice Pond Road, the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services announced on Friday, July 26. Expect Delays: Work Starts At Busy Hudson Valley Intersection
Traffic will likely be slowed at a busy intersection in the Hudson Valley as crews begin road work. The intersection of Seminary Hill Road and Church Street in the Putnam County town of Carmel will be held up by road work that began on Wednesday, July 24, according to the Carmel Highway Department. Highway Department officials advised motorists in the area to "be patient and allow extra time" as the work may hold up traffic.
