Gun Buyback Event To Be Held In Peekskill
In an effort to protect residents from gun violence, the New York Attorney General's Office will be buying back firearms during an event to be held in Northern Westchester. The gun buyback event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Peekskill at 1040 Main St. (Route 6/202), the New York Attorney General's Office announced. The New York Attorney General's Office has filed a lawsuit against a mobile home park in the region and its owners for years of failing to maintain humane living conditions. A man and daughter have been accused of stealing over $280,000 from a Hudson Valley resident. New York Attorney General Letitia James announced on Tuesday, Aug. 13, the indictments and arrests of Ulster County residents Frank Whittaker, age 56, of Kingston, and his daughter Christine Ellsworth, age 38, of Accord, for allegedly stealing more than $280,000 from a vulnerable elderly victim.
