Nysp Trooper Shot On Southern State Parkway; Suspect On Run A New York State Police trooper is recovering after being shot on a Long Island highway. The incident happened on the Southern State Parkway in West Hempstead, in the westbound lanes near exit 17, late Wednesday night, Oct. 30. Man Struck, Killed By SUV Was Inspecting Car After Minor Crash On NY Thruway, Police Say A man who was involved in a minor crash on the New York Thruway was killed when he stepped out of his vehicle to inspect the damage and was struck by a 2018 Ford SUV.  Saul Clark, 55, of Paterson, New Jersey, had gotten out of his vehicle in the southbound lanes of I-87 in West Nyack when he was struck by the passing SUV driven by a Nyack woman just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel said. Edmund Zielinski, age 55, is 6-foot-4, 220 pounds with gray/dirty blond hair, according to New York State Police, who note that he has a scar on his throat from vertebrae surgery. Wading River Man ID'd As Victim In Double-Fatal Wrong-Way Driver Crash In Two men were killed during a wrong-way driver crash on the Taconic State Parkway in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at 2:40 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15, in LaGrange. According to New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks, an initial investigation determined Joseph W. 28-Year-Old From Bayport ID'd After Fatal Southampton Crash A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Long Island. The incident happened in Southampton, south of County Road 51 and Speonk Riverhead Road, at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9. Southampton Town Police said a motorcyclist was going southbound on County Road 51 when he crashed into a wooded area.
