Citizen Complaints Spark Brothel Bust In Suffolk County, Two Arrested: Police
A Long Island brothel was busted Thursday, Aug. 6 after numerous community complaints, police said.
Two women — Fen Fang Lin, 57, of Queens, and Xiangjie Lin, 41, of Brooklyn — were arrested following the raid at 1998 Route 112, Apt. 51A in Coram, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
In addition to the arrests, cocaine, cash, and electronic devices were seized during the raid, authorities said.

An off-duty NYPD officer was driving drunk and crashed his car with three young children inside, state police said.
Anthony N. Guglielmo, 38, of Staten Island, crashed on Route 23 in Greenport in Columbia County, with 7-, 6-, and 5-year-old children in the car on Wednesday, Aug. 5, New York State Police said.

Erick Garcia, 22, was sentenced Thursday, Aug. 6 to 25 years behind bars for the killing of 19-year-old Carlos Guillen in 2022, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said.
Garcia, of Central Islip, designed a plan to rob Guillen at gunpoint after meeting up in Central Islip on Oct. 1, 2022, investigators said.

Two Long Island partners-in-crime were sentenced Thursday, Aug. 6 for gunning down an unarmed father in a case of mistaken identity, authorities said.
Christopher Fernandez, 29, got 25 years to life, and Oliver Schor, 24, got 22 years to life, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said.
The two men were convicted of killing 49-year-old Michael Hartmann in his backyard on Nov. 2, 2022, in Bohemia. Prosecutors said Fernandez led the plan, believing his missing cellphone was in Hartmann’s home, according to Newsday.
