A serious crash shut down Route 17 in Sullivan County on Saturday, March 22, as New York State Police launched an investigation, officials said. New York State Police Troopers responded to the crash near Exit 113 eastbound in Wurtsboro, and the highway was closed at Exit 112, according to NYSP Trooper Jennifer Alvarez. A 21-year-old man from Garfield was shot and killed in Paterson late Saturday afternoon, March 22, authorities said. Eliyahu Fink, of Suffern, NY, was driving a Tesla Model Y south on the Parkway when he was involved in a single-vehicle crash and the car became disabled in the left lane, just before 1 a.m. on Friday, March 21, State Police Sgt. Person Struck, Killed By Freight Train In Harrington Park: Officials
A person was struck and killed by a train Saturday afternoon, March 22 in Harrington Park. A CSX train struck the pedestrian on the tracks near La Roche Avenue and Semmens Road at approximately 1:25 p.m., a CSX spokesperson said. Bergen County EMS and Harrington Park Police quickly responded to the scene and later reported that the individual had been killed. There were no injuries to the crew. "CSX extends its deepest sympathies to everyone impacted by this tragic incident and will continue to support local law enforcement as they complete the investigation," the spokesperson said.

Two young brothers from New Jersey were killed and a puppy was also found dead after a violent crash sent a car flying off I-95 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania State Police said. A small earthquake struck western New Jersey early Friday morning, March 21, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The 1.8-magnitude tremor was recorded at 8:23 a.m., with an epicenter about seven kilometers southwest of Gladstone, the USGS reported.
