Fatal Long Island Shooting: 43-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Confrontation Between 2 Groups Police are investigating an overnight Long Island shooting that left one man dead and another injured. It happened Saturday, Aug. 31 at about 7:45 p.m. in North Bellport. The two individuals were shot during a confrontation between two groups of people on Patchogue Avenue, between Doane Avenue and Bayview Avenue, according to the Suffolk County Police. The incident happened in Huntington Station, at the Tourneau store located at Walt Whitman Shops, at around 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 12. Suffolk County Police said a man stole a Cartier watch valued at approximately $20,000. 20-Year-Old, Furry Friend Rescued From Long Island Marina A man and his dog have some officers to thank for rescuing them from a Long Island marina. The early-morning incident happened in Patchogue, at Mascot Dock and Marina, at around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27. Suffolk County Police said a 20-year-old Holbrook man was crabbing when his dog, a 2-year-old pit bull, jumped into the water. The man jumped in after her but was unable to exit the water. Fortunately for the pair, two Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers responded in their boat and pulled them to safety.  Both man and dog were unharmed.

Suspect Nabbed After 30-Year-Old Shot, Killed In Broad Daylight Outside Long Island Residence A suspect has been apprehended after a fatal shooting in broad daylight outside a Long Island residence. It happened around 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 in Brentwood. Joshua E. Jasmin, age 30, of North Babylon, was transported via Brentwood Legion Ambulance to South Shore University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Following an investigation, Romeo Campbell, age 23, of Brentwood, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He was held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday, Aug. 31.
