34-Year-Old Dies From Injuries Month After Long Island Crash
A man critically injured in a fiery crash on Long Island has died from his injuries, authorities announced Monday morning, Nov. 11.
Richard Sorrentino, age 34, of Queens, was pronounced dead by hospital staff on Friday, Nov. 8, Nassau County Police said.
The crash happened on Saturday, Oct. 12, around 6:55 p.m. in Bellmore.
Sorrentino was riding a black motorcycle westbound on Sunrise Highway near Rose Place when he struck a bicyclist attempting to cross the roadway.

Andre Beadle was on the Nassau Expressway in Queens around 1:15 a.m. driving east at a "high rate of speed," the magazine said, quoting an NYPD spokesperson.
He lost control of the 2023 BMW and swerved into a metal pole on the right side of the road.

A months-long investigation has led to the arrest of a man who authorities say impersonated a federal agent and used fear and intimidation to convince a Long Island victim to hand over money.
On Friday, Oct. 25, the suspect, Om Parkash, age 31, of Queens, was charged with second-degree grand larceny (a Class C felony).

A brother and sister from Long Island are accused of abusing their elderly mother to the point the woman died.
Nassau County Police were called to a Roosevelt home at around 2:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, to perform a welfare check.
Inside, officers found 85-year-old Carmel McDougall unresponsive. She was taken to a hospital and died days later, on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
An investigation found that McDougall’s 65-year-old son, Michael McDougall, was responsible for the injuries that caused her death, police said.

A police pursuit and fatal officer-involved shooting on a Long Island highway is the subject of a New York State Attorney General’s Office investigation.
The incident happened on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa on Friday, Sept. 20.
According to the AG’s office, officers with the NYPD, along with Freeport and Nassau County Police, were involved in a vehicle pursuit through Queens and Nassau counties.

Two women are facing charges after a raid at a Long Island massage parlor.
In response to numerous community complaints, authorities conducted an investigation into Jixiang Spa in Selden, located at 721 Middle Country Road, on Wednesday afternoon, June 12.
Two employees, Queens residents Jiangnan Tong, age 46, and Wenjing Guo, age 39, both of Flushing, were each charged with unauthorized practice of a profession, a Class E felony.

Three New York men have been charged in connection with a $185 million fraud scheme involving over a thousand investors, federal authorities announced.
