$158K Diamond Delivery Lands LI Man In Handcuffs, Police Say
A Long Island man was arrested after detectives said he knowingly received a package containing fraudulently purchased loose diamonds worth approximately $158,000, Nassau County police said.
Wilfredo Franco Ramirez, 42, of Franklin Square, was arrested at 7:08 p.m. on Friday, May 29, in Franklin Square, according to the Nassau County Police Department's Electronics Squad/Fraud & Forgery Section.
Detectives said Ramirez knowingly accepted a package containing natural loose diamonds that had been purchased through fraud. The diamonds were valued at approximately $158,000, police said.

A veteran Long Island burglary crew tried to take a safe with nearly $1 million in valuables inside while a family was on vacation, police said Wednesday, May 13.
Leonard Repka, 63; Vincent Repka, 58; and Nikitas Margiellos, 53, were busted for the Saturday, April 11 home invasion in North Valley Stream, the Nassau County Police Department said.

Andrew Dykes, 66, was arraigned in a Florida courtroom Wednesday, Dec. 3, on two counts of murder in the deaths of Tanya Denise Jackson and her daughter, Tatiana Marie Dykes, according to the outlet. Dykes is the child’s father.

A former local TV news anchor is accused of stabbing her mother to death and has been charged with first-degree murder, authorities said.
Police were dispatched at about 7:50 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31 to a “reported cutting” at a home in Wichita, Kansas.
Responding officers found a woman outside who was later identified as Angelynn “Angie” Mock, 47. Inside, they found her 80-year-old mother, Anita Avers, “unresponsive in her bed with multiple stab wounds,” according to a department statement.
