NJ Wrong-Way Driver, 25, Caused Double Fatal Crash On Route 17 In NY: Cops (Update) A wrong-way driver caused a devastating head-on collision on Route 17 in Orange County, leaving two people dead and another seriously injured, New York State Police confirmed. The crash occurred around 1:50 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, when a 2009 Nissan traveling in the eastbound direction on the westbound lanes of Route 17 near Exit 126 in Chester struck a 2014 Honda Odyssey head-on, according to State Police. Traffic Alert: Tractor-Trailer Hits Overpass, Closing 3 Lanes Of Route 17 In Orange County A tractor-trailer hauling an excavator hit an overpass in Orange County and rolled over, blocking three eastbound traffic lanes on Route 17.  The incident occurred in Orange County early Tuesday, Dec. 10, in Goshen at Exit 124. Trooper Jennifer Alvarez said there are detours in place. But traffic is backed up. The lanes are expected to be closed for several hours.  This is a developing story. Hudson Valley Man Killed After Crashing SUV Into Guardrail A Hudson Valley man was killed after crashing an SUV into the center median guardrail on Route 17. The incident occurred in Orange County at 7:50 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 10, on Route 17 westbound near Exit 122 in Wallkill. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, arriving troopers found a 2020 Chevrolet SUV crashed into the center median with the driver, identified as Arthur Anderson, age 53, of Middletown, unconscious and entrapped in the vehicle.  Wallkill EMS and Mechanicstown Fire Department extricated Anderson from the vehicle, and he was transported to G…
