Woman From Region Nabbed Twice In 24 Hours For Stealing Vehicles, Police Say
A woman from the region who was released on an appearance ticket after allegedly stealing a vehicle was arrested again 24 hours later after stealing another car. The incident occurred in Sullivan County on Sunday, Oct. 27, in Monticello. According to Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, Lindsay Houck, age 28, was arrested early in the morning after she stole a 2006 Jeep that was gassing up at the Mobil Station on Raceway Road in Monticello. Person Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle On Hudson Valley Roadway
A man was hit and killed by a Jeep as he crossed a busy roadway in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 6:45 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, on Violet Avenue in Hyde Park. According to Hyde Park Police Chief Robert Benson, Lawrence Williams, age 76, of Hyde Park, was crossing Violet Avenue from the Sunoco Gas Station to his residence at the Hyde Park Assisted Living when he was struck by a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 41-year-old Hude Park woman. Beloved North Salem Town Employee, Firefighter Dies At 62
A much-loved town employee from Northern Westchester who spent more than two decades serving the public as a firefighter has died. John Scott Parker, who worked as North Salem's Assistant Building Inspector and spent over 20 years with the Katonah Fire Department, died on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the age of 62 following a battle with cancer, according to his obituary.
