The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued an alert advising that slide-in electric ranges are subject to the recall due to front-mounted knobs that can be accidentally activated by humans or pets, creating a fire hazard. Scooter's Lithium-Ion Battery Prompts Hazmat Response At Northern Westchester Home A set of lithium-ion batteries inside an electric scooter sparked a flash fire that broke windows and blew garage doors off their tracks at a Northern Westchester home. The blaze happened on Monday, July 8 just before 9 p.m. at a residence in Somers on Weeks Court, the Somers Volunteer Fire Department announced on Thursday, July 11.  According to the fire department, arriving crews found a scooter on fire in the home's garage and took it outside.
