Firefighters and emergency responders in Croton-on-Hudson were called to the scene of two crashes on Monday, Feb. 10, both occurring within a short span of time. The first incident happened at around 11:30 a.m. on Grand Street, where a vehicle crashed off the roadway. A late-night rollover involving a dump truck disrupted operations and caused injuries at a train station in Westchester. The incident occurred on Friday, Jan. 24, just before 10 p.m., when a truck rolled over at the Metro-North Rail Yards beneath the Croton Point Avenue overpass, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. Firefighters raced to a golf course clubhouse in Northern Westchester after a dryer fire filled the building with smoke. The incident happened in Croton-on-Hudson on Monday, Nov. 4 just before 8:45 a.m., when a blaze began inside a dryer at the Hudson National Golf Course's clubhouse, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. Brush Fire Reaches Cortlandt Home, Kept At Bay By Resident With Hose
A Northern Westchester resident was able to keep a raging brush fire at bay with a hose until firefighters could arrive and save their home from the flames. The blaze happened on Wednesday, Oct. 16 around 11:45 a.m., when a fire began behind a home on Colabaugh Pond Road in Cortlandt, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. Man Rescued From Water Below Dam In Northern Westchester
First responders had to make their way through traffic before saving a man from the water below a dam in Northern Westchester. The rescue happened just before 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, when a man became trapped in the water below the Croton Dam's spillway, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. Officers from the Westchester County Police Department soon arrived and were able to lower a flotation device to the man as fire crews fought vehicle and pedestrian traffic to get to the scene.
