Covid-12: NY Now Reporting 1,700 Previously Undisclosed Deaths, Bringing Total Over 20,000
New York State health officials are now reporting more than 1,700 previously undisclosed deaths at nursing homes and assisted care centers, as the total at those facilities approaches 5,000 and the overall number of deaths in the state has now surpassed 20,000 since the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic began.
At least 4,813 New York residents with potential or confirmed COVID-19 cases have died in state nursing homes since the outbreak began in early March, the New York State Department of Health announced Tuesday, May 5.

Covid-19: NY State Releases Number Of Deaths Per County
Westchester County Executive George Latimer has directed that all flags at county parks and facilities be lowered to half-staff in memory of the Westchester residents who have died during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The number of casualties in Westchester climbed to 197, according to statistics from throughout New York State released late Saturday afternoon by Melissa DeRosa, Secretary to Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Covid-19: Cuomo Issues Executive Order To Redistribute Ventilators Across New York Hospitals
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is signing an Executive Order that will allow him to “borrow” ventilators and other essential equipment that isn’t isn’t being used and redistribute them to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) hotspots in the state.
Cuomo said the order will allow him to deploy the National Guard largely to upstate hospitals, where the virus hasn’t hit as hard, to redistribute the equipment downstate, which has been at the epicenter of the outbreak.

There were 562 newly reported deaths tied to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in New York, the most fatalities reported in a single day since the outbreak.
At his daily COVID-19 briefing on Friday, April 3, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that there have been 10,482 new positive cases, bringing the state’s total to 102,863 cases, four times more than any other state.
