One Seriously Injured When School Bus With Five Children Aboard Crashes With Car In Rockland
A driver was seriously injured after being hit by a school bus in Rockland County as it exited the Palisades Parkway. The incident took place around 7:22 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17, when a 2016 school bus was traveling northeast making a left onto Quaker Road off the exit 13 ramp in the town of Haverstraw, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel. The crash occurred when a 2008 Toyota Prius was traveling southwest off the ramp. A woman accused of driving while impaired by drugs and her child were rushed to Westchester Medical Center after a head-on crash with a van. in Rockland County It happened on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at about 10 a.m. in Ramapo on Route 45 and Windsor Circle, police said. An area woman arrested on cocaine charges after she drove a man who had been stabbed to the hospital has been identified as a Pearl River High School special education teacher. Denise Christensen, 53, of Pearl River, was arrested on Saturday, Dec. 8, after Clarkstown Police officers responded to Nyack Hospital for a report of a man with stab wounds, said Clarkstown Police Det. The identity of the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a police cruiser on Route 202 in Garnerville early Saturday morning has been released. The incident occurred just before dawn near the Mobil gas station at 109 W. Ramapo Road and involved a police car from the Haverstraw PD, whose headquarters is located at 101 W. Ramapo Road. One person was injured after a northbound CSX train hit a car Saturday morning in West Nyack. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. at the Pineview Road crossing, Clarkstown Police said. A 50-year-old woman was killed after the car she was traveling in hit a deer on the Palisades Parkway and slammed into several trees, leading to an hourslong closure of the southbound lanes. Police are searching for a suspect in a hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist seriously injured on Route 9W. The incident occurred just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Piermont when a bicyclist was struck by a large white box truck. Man Dies After Being Pulled From Pomona Fire
A man died early Wednesday after a fire ripped through his Pomona home. The fire was reported around 3:03 a.m. at 286 Quaker Road, according to Hillcrest Fire Company No. 1. When firefighters arrived on scene flames were spreading outside the back of the one-story house to the roof. An 80-year-old woman was killed during the height of Tuesday's severe storm when a tree slammed into the driver's side of her vehicle in Rockland County. The incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday as the woman was driving south on Red Schoolhouse Road in the village of Chestnut Ridge during the storm when the tree toppled onto the roof of her car, said Ramapo Police Lt.
