Second Person Arrested In Connection With City Of Poughkeepsie Murder
A 39-year-old man has been charged for the murder of a Poughkeepsie resident last year.
Oba Johnson of Poughkeepsie, who is the second person nabbed in connection with the crime, was arrested Wednesday outside a residence in Fishkill on a warrant for murder in the second degree, said City of Poughkeepsie Police Det. Lt. Matt Clark.
This charge stems from the Nov. 5, 2018, murder of Jaquain Johnson, 20, who was shot to death at the intersection of Mill and Garden Streets.

Police Searching For 'Person Of Interest' In Theft Of City Of Poughkeepsie Truck
Police are asking the public for help locating a "person of interest" in the theft of a City of Poughkeepsie truck.
The truck, a white 2005 Chevrolet, was stolen around 2:44 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, from the loading dock of City Hall, said City of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Richard Wilson.
The truck, which has the seal of the City of Poughkeepsie and the number 58, belongs to the Public Works department. Its registration number is AD8973.
Surveillance video of the City Hall complex has led police to identify Robert Warran, 55, as a person of interest, he said. …
Dutchess Man Arrested For Cutting The Throat Of Clerk During Armed Robbery, Police Say
A Hyde Park man is behind bars after allegedly cutting the throat of a gas station clerk and then stabbing him numerous times during an armed robbery of the business.
The incident took around 1:42 a.m., Saturday, at the Mobile gas station at 3480 North Road, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Kevin Faber.
During the commission of the crime, Matthew Garcia, 26, brandished a knife and attacked the clerk before stealing money and fleeing from the business, Faber said.
