CT Man Struck By Lightning As Severe Storms Roared Through Region A 34-year-old Connecticut man was struck by lightning as several severe thunderstorms ripped through the area. The incident occurred in New London County around 6:15 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, on Orchard Farms Road in Colchester. According to Colchester Fire Chief Steve Hoffmann, crews responded to the home and found the man "conscious and alert" but suffering from chest pains. 1-Year-Old Rescued From Locked Car In Hudson Valley As the temperatures soared to 98 degrees, police in the Hudson Valley rescued a 1-year-old boy from a locked car. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, at the Costco parking lot in Nanuet. According to Det. Hudson Valley Man Nabbed For String Of Burglaries, Police Say A Hudson Valley man was nabbed for allegedly committing a string of commercial burglaries following an investigation.  Dutchess County resident Eric Mangano, age 53, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested by the city of Poughkeepsie police on Tuesday, July 16. Hudson Valley Man Driving High Sentenced After Crash Paralyzed Teen A Hudson Valley man was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to driving high on pot and causing a crash that paralyzed a teen. Orange County resident Chauncey Smith, age 23, of Pine Bush, was sentenced on Tuesday, July 16, to three to nine years in prison in connection with the Monday, August 14, 2023 crash, said Orange County District Attorney David M.
