Wappingers Fourth Graders Learning About Roosevelts Through New Grant

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. -- The fourth graders in the Wappingers Falls Central District will get to learn more about the Roosevelts.

The Roosevelt Vanderbilt National Historic Site was awarded an Every Kid in a Park grant that will allow fourth graders free access to parks, lands, and waters through the summer.

The grant will reimburse bus costs for 770 fourth graders for their field trip to the park. Students will learn more about the legacy of the Roosevelts and develop a service learning project, the school district said.

Fourth graders plan to visit the park in May and June, the district said.
