Wappingers Falls Boiler Explosion Injures One

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. -- East Fishkill firefighters responded to a home around 8:45 a.m. Friday following a boiler explosion that caused major damage to the home, and injured one person, fire officials said.

The explosion at 8 Treeline Drive caused a flash fire, but did not erupt into a full-blown fire, said East Fishkill Fire Chief Kevin Geysen.

"The residents will not be able to return to the home until repairs are made due to the amount of damage," Geysen said.

The injured person was transported to a local hospital for non-threatening injuries, he added.
