Located in Dutchess County at the foot of the Walkway Over The Hudson in Poughkeepsie, Aloy's Italian Restaurant served its first pizza in 1929 and has remained virtually unchanged since.
Only three people have owned the restaurant, including the current owner, Frank Nardone.

The point hits home when you check the five-star ratings on Yelp or other online reviewers.
Kyle M. wrote: "Doesn't look like much when you first stumble across this place, but man, you couldn't be more wrong. This place has an old-school, homey Italian feel to it. It's a hole-in-the-wall authentic Italian place.
"The wallpaper and atmosphere make me feel like I'm eating a family meal in my grandmother's dining room. The food is wonderful and very reasonably priced. I've been here twice now, and it's definitely a place I will frequent whenever I'm in the area craving Italian food, specifically when I'm with family."
If you haven't visited and ordered pizza, online reviewers said you can expect to receive the same square, thin-crusted pie with plenty of toppings. A couple of reviewers said it had "the exact right proportion of crust to toppings and cheese and sauce."
The menu is packed full of favorites with reviewers, including spaghetti and meatballs, zuppa de pesce, clams with sauce, broiled seafood dinner with pasta, and, well, the menu goes on and on.
Oh, and Frank Sinatra plays in the background.
