The outage count is down from a peak of more than 15,000 early Thursday morning.
“Our local crews and support personnel have been working since the outset and we are continuing to bring in additional resources – including line and tree crews – from across the state,” said Mark S. Lynch, president and CEO of NYSEG. “Our commitment to our customers who are without power is to restore service safely and as quickly as possible.”
As NYSEG continues to respond to downed wires incidents to ensure public safety, the company expects to have 90% of the original storm-related outages restored by 1 p.m. Friday.
