21-Year-Old From Great Neck Accused Of Impersonating Homeland Security Officer In New Hyde Park
A Long Island man has been apprehended after authorities say he impersonated an officer. According to Nassau County Police detectives, Seth Newman, age 21, of Great Neck, was driving a black 2021 Dodge Charger in New Hyde Park in the vicinity of Marcus Avenue and New Hyde Park Road at around noontime Sunday, Oct. 27. He then activated amber flashing lights and a siren and was observed with what appeared to be a black handgun located near his hip, said police. Social Media Threat Raises Alarms At Elementary School On Long Island
Security was heightened at a Long Island elementary school after authorities discovered a threatening social media post. Riverhead Police said a parent contacted the agency at around 6:40 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, saying their child had found a Snapchat post making unspecific threats against “Pulaski Elementary School,” along with other schools. The threat was relayed to administrators at Pulaski Street Elementary School and police conducted extra patrols at the campus, police said. New Bomb Threat Sent To Kellenberg High School For Second Straight Day
A high school on Long Island had to be cleared for the second straight day after a new bomb threat.The latest incident happened around 6:40 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Kellenberg Memorial High School in Uniondale. An anonymous person sent a message through a crisis chat message system that bombs had been placed around the school grounds, according to Nassau County Police. Students At Kellenberg HS Forced To Wait Outside As Police Search For Bombs
Police on Long Island say the bomb threat made against a high school was a hoax. Kellenberg Memorial High School, at 1400 Glenn Curtiss Blvd., in Uniondale was alerted to the call just after 7 a.m., Nassau County authorities said. The call was made anonymously to the 988 Lifeline, a suicide and crisis hotline. The caller claimed to have planted bombs around the school grounds. Police and Homeland Security agents had teachers and students wait outside until they deemed the area safe. Officers are investigating who made the call.

A 42-year-old postal employee is being accused of stealing thousands of dollars in checks from a Long Island mail facility. Dendrick Emery, age 42, from Brooklyn, was charged on Wednesday, June 5, with grand larceny and other crimes.
