A woman was killed after her vehicle left a road and caught fire early Sunday, Sept. 6, New York State Police said. Troopers from the Monroe barracks came upon the vehicle fire on Cedar Cliff Road in the Town of Monroe, Orange County around 2:26 a.m., police said. The Town of Monroe Fire Department extinguished the flames. The driver and sole occupant, Jodi Lester, 56, of Monroe, was extricated from the 2020 Hyundai and pronounced dead at the scene, according to State Police.
