$26.3 Million Road Project Begins In Hudson Valley
Work has started on a section of Hudson Valley roadway to upgrade drainage systems, fortify stone, resurface the road, and more. According to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, the $26.3 million project begins Monday, Oct. 21, and will occur in Orange County along a 4.9-mile stretch of Route 9W atop Storm King Mountain in Cornwall and Highlands. Car Rolls Over On Hudson Valley Road, Causes Temporary Closure
One lane of a Hudson Valley road was temporarily closed after a car flipped, firefighters said. The crash happened in Putnam County on Friday, Oct. 18 just before 8 a.m., when a vehicle flipped at the intersection of Hill Street and Lakeside Road in Mahopac, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. Arriving first responders evaluated the driver. However, they declined any medical attention. One lane of traffic was closed for a short time while crews operated at the crash scene. The cause of the crash was not released.

Sewage Truck Overturns, Spills Contents On I-684
Traffic on a busy Northern Westchester interstate was backed up for miles following a crash involving a sewage truck that resulted in two people being hospitalized. The incident happened on Thursday, Sept. 5, just before 2 p.m., when three vehicles collided on Interstate 684 South just south of the Route 138 overpass in Goldens Bridge, according to the Goldens Bridge Fire Department. Traffic Alert: Lane Reductions Expected Along I-84 In Hudson Valley
Commuters should note that a section of I-84 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge painting. The New York State Department of Transportation is advising Dutchess County motorists that I-84 between Exit 44 (Route 52) in the Town of Fishkill and Exit 46 (Route 9) in the Town of East Fishkill, Mondays through Saturdays, beginning Monday, Aug. 12, through Monday, Sept. 30, between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For up-to-date travel information, call 511, or visit www.511NY.org.

Hudson Valley Police Chief Resigns For New Job
Employees from a Hudson Valley town bid farewell to their police chief, who resigned to take a new position. For the past 11 years, Police Chief Keith Dworkin has called Dutchess County and the Fishkill Police Department home, but on Friday, July 19, he said goodbye to take another position as chief in the village of Millbrook. Crash Slows Traffic On Busy Hudson Valley Roadway
A collision involving a truck impacted traffic on a busy route in the Hudson Valley. The crash happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, July 17, when vehicles collided on Route 9 near the entrance of The Bird & Bottle Inn, according to the Garrison Volunteer Fire Company. Arriving first responders found the drivers out of their vehicles and stayed at the scene to control traffic and clean debris. The vehicles involved in the crash, including a truck, were later towed away.
