A man and a juvenile were nabbed after police responded to a suspicious vehicle call. The occupants allegedly removed items from a mailbox in front of a home. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 12:10 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8, in Tomkins Cove. According to Stony Point Police Lt. Daniel Schoales, responding officers located a vehicle matching the description on Mott Farm Road. A man is facing multiple charges after an online predator sting in the region. From Tuesday, April 30, through Sunday, Sept. 1 of this year, Robert Fidler age 66, of Nyack engaged in internet chats and attempted to arrange meetings with what he thought were two teenage girls, the Rockland County District Attorney's Office said. Police in the Hudson Valley are asking residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity after three residential burglaries. The incidents occurred in Rockland County in the village of Montebello. The Ramapo Police Department reports it is investigating three recent residential burglaries in the Village of Montebello. 2-Year-Old Struck, Killed By SUV In Rockland County
An investigation is underway after a 2-year-old girl was struck and killed by a van in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Rockland County at 3:10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, on Calvert Drive in the village of Kaser in Ramapo. According to Ramapo Police Lt. Michael Gannon, responding officers found the child was struck by a 2014 Honda Odyssey and had sustained life-threatening injuries. Duo Charged With Hate Crimes After Attacking UPS Driver In Rockland County
Two men have been charged with alleged assault as a hate crime after attacking a UPS driver while using racial slurs and attempting to steal the keys to his vehicle. The incident occurred in Rockland County at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, on Spook Rock Road in the village of Montebello. Hudson Valley Man Convicted Of Molesting Child
A Hudson Valley man faces up to seven years in prison for sexually molesting a 9-year-old girl for three years. Rockland County resident, Elmer Oviedo-Sandoval, age 47, of Haverstraw, was convicted on Monday, Aug. 12, after a two week jury trial. According to Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Walsh, Oviedo-Sandoval was convicted of course of sexual conduct against a child at two different locations in Ramapo.
