Forest Rangers Rescue Severely Injured 78-Year-Old From Hudson Valley Mountain
A hiker on a mountain in the region who may have broken their pelvis in a fall was rescued by forest rangers from the state Department of Environmental Conservation. The incident occurred in Ulster County at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, on Overlook Moutain in the Echo Lake area in Woodstock. According to the DEC, Ulster County 911 requested Forest Ranger assistance for an injured hiker on Overlook Mountain in the area of Echo Lake. 53-Year-Old Woman Killed In 2-Car Crash In Rockland County
A 53-year-old Hudson Valley woman was killed in a two-car crash. The incident occurred in Rockland County at 9:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 14, at the intersection of New Hempstead Road and Summit Park Road in Ramapo. According to Sgt. Shawn Bakker of the Ramapo Police, responding officers found a 2000 Ford Taurus and a 2007 Honda Accord had crashed. Bakker said that a 69-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman, both residents of Spring Valley, occupied the Ford. Both were transported to Nyack Hospital by Spring Hill Ambulance. Residents Evaluated After Bathroom Blaze Fills Hudson Valley Home With Smoke
Residents were evaluated for smoke exposure following a bathroom fire in their Hudson Valley home. The blaze happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, July 31 just before 6 a.m., when an oil burner malfunction was reported at a Mahopac home on Mountain View Drive. According to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department, arriving crews found smoke filling the residence and soon determined an oil burner did not cause the blaze but began in a bathroom wastebasket. A two-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley seriously injured a woman. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 3:40 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, on Route 9 near Rochambeau Lane in the town of Poughkeepsie. According to Capt. A Hudson Valley man was killed in a two-vehicle crash. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 8 a.m., Thursday, June 13, on Route 52 at the intersection of Leetown Road in the town of East Fishkill. Police are searching for a suspect after a 55-year-old man was found shot dead in a parking lot in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 10:20 p.m., Saturday, June 1, in the area of 472 Main St., in Poughkeepsie. According to Det. Lt. Matt Clark of the City of Poughkeepsie Police, responding officers found the man at the top of the parking area.
