Man Rescued From Water Below Dam In Northern Westchester First responders had to make their way through traffic before saving a man from the water below a dam in Northern Westchester.  The rescue happened just before 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, when a man became trapped in the water below the Croton Dam's spillway, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department.  Officers from the Westchester County Police Department soon arrived and were able to lower a flotation device to the man as fire crews fought vehicle and pedestrian traffic to get to the scene.  Once they were able to get to the dam, the fire department lowered a swimme…

ID Released For Man Who Disappeared In Waters Off Fairfield Coast Police have identified a man who disappeared in the waters off the Connecticut coast. The incident occurred in Fairfield around 12:10 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3, near Lighthouse Point and Penfield Reef. According to Sgt. Michael Stahl of the Fairfield Police Department, a 911 call was received about two individuals struggling in the water near Lighthouse Point and Penfield Reef.  Stahl said several nearby bystanders assisted in rescuing one of the men. Man Rescued After Falling From Overturned, Disabled Jet Ski Into Hudson River In Westchester With plenty of great weather on the horizon, authorities in Westchester are reminding residents to be careful while out on the water after rescuing a man from the Hudson River who fell from a disabled jet ski.  The department announced on Friday, May 31, that the rescue happened over Memorial Day weekend in Yonkers.
