Fugitive Chase, DWI Bust, Stolen Car: Trio Of Arrests Made In This NY Village, Police Say
Three dramatic busts, including a highway fugitive chase, a felony DWI, and a stolen car case, kept police in one Westchester County village busy over the last few weeks.
The arrests happened between Friday, Aug. 22, and Monday, Sept. 1, the Croton-on-Hudson Police Department announced on Friday, Sept. 19.
The first of the arrests happened on Aug. 22, when officers said they took Tequan Robinson, 26, of New York City, into custody after a multi-agency pursuit that started with a larceny case in Tarrytown.

Jacobo Argueta Fuentes, 33, was arrested by ICE’s Buffalo Enforcement and Removal Operations team on Tuesday, July 23, in Ossining, federal authorities said.

ID Released Of Man, 31, Killed By Falling Tree Limb In Somers (Update)
Authorities have released the identity of the man who died after being struck by a falling tree limb while on the job in Northern Westchester.
Jonathan Chavez Jaramillo, age 31, of Ossining, was performing tree removal work at a private residence in Somers when he was fatally injured, New York State Police said in an update on Thursday, June 26.
The incident happened around 4:03 p.m. on Monday, June 23, when a landscaping service contracted by the homeowner was removing a tree from the property. During the job, Chavez Jaramillo was hit by a falling limb.

Prison Guards Strike At Hudson Valley Facility: National Guard Deployed, Mediator Talks Begin
An unauthorized prison guard strike across New York, including at Westchester's Sing Sing Correctional Facility, has prompted the use of National Guard members as talks with a mediator begin.
The strikes began the week of Monday, Feb. 17, and have continued through Monday, Feb. 24, involving corrections officers at prisons throughout New York including Ossining's Sing Sing facility.

A movie based on a theater program at a maximum security prison in the Hudson Valley is making history by becoming the first film to be screened in prisons across the country, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter.
"Sing Sing," based on the Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in the Northern Westchester village of Ossining, will again be released in theaters on Friday, Jan. 17. New York's 40th State Senate District voters have officially chosen their next representative.
Democrat Pete Harckham, age 64, has been projected as winning re-election for his fourth term in the New York State Senate seat representing Northern Westchester and parts of Putnam and Rockland counties, according to the state's Board of Elections.
As of just after 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, Harckham was leading his opponent, Republican Gina Arena, by 50 to 44 percent.
