The injury happened at L&S Packaging Company on Central Avenue in East Farmingdale at 7:35 p.m., according to the Suffolk County Police. The employee was using a food-dicing machine when he put his hand inside to clean it out, resulting in the severe injury. The worker, 45, of North Amityville, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with serious injuries, police said.
