New Airline Offering Flights At Long Island's Main Airport: See Where You Can Go A popular airline in New Haven, Connecticut, is crossing the Long Island Sound and offering flights from a new airport. Avelo Airlines will begin flying from Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) in Islip, New York, the company said in a news release on Tuesday, Mar. 11. The carrier will begin service to three destinations in the late spring. Twice-weekly flights will be offered on Thursdays and Sundays.
