Election 2024: Projection Made In NY State Senate Race Representing Parts Of Putnam New York's 40th State Senate District voters have officially chosen their next representative.  Democrat Pete Harckham, age 64, has been projected as winning re-election for his fourth term in the New York State Senate seat representing Northern Westchester and parts of Putnam and Rockland counties, according to the state's Board of Elections.  As of just after 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, Harckham was leading his opponent, Republican Gina Arena, by 50 to 44 percent.  In total, Harckham received 84,789 votes of those tallied, over 10,000 more than those cast for Arena. Car Goes Up In Flames On Parkway In Northern Westchester Firefighters raced into action after a car was consumed by flames on a busy parkway in Northern Westchester.  The blaze happened on Thursday, June 12 just after 8 p.m., when a vehicle caught on fire on the Taconic State Parkway in Briarcliff Manor, according to the village's fire department.  Arriving crews found the car engulfed in flames and were able to successfully put it out with no reported injuries.  A video of the blaze was later released by the department on Thursday, June 20.  At 2038 hours on Thursday, June 13th, the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department was …
