A Putnam County man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted armed robbery at a Westchester gas station, authorities said.
The incident happened in Yorktown on Tuesday, March 4, just before noon, when there was a reported robbery at the Mobil gas station at 3205 Crompond Rd., Yorktown Police said on Thursday, March 13.

Dutchess County Man Sentenced to 20 Years To Life For Kidnapping Pregnant Woman, Children
The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office announced that Derrick Woodhouse, age 50, of Poughkeepsie, has been sentenced to 20 years to life for kidnapping and 2 to 4 years for attempted robbery following his conviction by a Dutchess County jury.
The charges stem from a harrowing incident on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2023, when Woodhouse abducted a pregnant woman and two minor children at knifepoint in the City of Poughkeepsie.
