A downed pole with transformers in the street shut a Tappan roadway Wednesday night, Jan. 1, responders said. Tappan Fire Department said that Route 303 was closed at Tappan Golf as of 10:30 p.m. A cause was not provided.

Pedestrian Struck, Dragged By Passing Car New Year's Eve In Atlantic City: Cops
A pedestrian was struck and killed in a two-vehicle crash on New Year’s Eve in Atlantic City, police said. The incident occurred at 10:47 p.m. on December 31, 2024, at the intersection of Maryland Avenue and Absecon Boulevard, according to the Atlantic City Police Department. When officers arrived, they found a 38-year-old Atlantic City man suffering from injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
