Be ready for possible travel delays on the Taconic State Parkway in the coming days. Road crews in Columbia County will be closing both directions of the parkway between Chatham and Claverack beginning Tuesday, Aug. 16, the NY State Department of Transportation said. Lane Closures Announced For Stretch Of Taconic State Parkway In Northern Westchester
State officials announced that single- and double-lane closures are planned for a stretch of the Taconic State Parkway in Westchester County. The New York State Department of Transportation said the lane closures will be between Exit 11 (State Route 134) and Exit 13 (Underhill Avenue) in Yorktown. Officials say the closures are set for 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays beginning Tuesday, July 12, through Saturday, Oct. 29. Construction workers in the Hudson Valley got a scare on the job when they accidentally ruptured a propane tank near a Rockland County school, leading to temporary road closures. In New City, the eastbound lanes of Parrot Road between Germonds Road and the entrance of the Felix Festa Middle School in West Nyack were closed on Tuesday, April 5 when the tank was struck in a lot under construction. State Police are set to temporarily close a roadway in the Hudson Valley due to an investigation. New York State Police said State Route 9G/Violet Avenue in Dutchess County will close for about two hours on Thursday, Oct. 28, due to an investigation between E/W Dorsey Lane and Cottage Road in Hyde Park. Motorists on the Taconic State Parkway can expect some delays due to a roadway closure in the area. The New York State Department of Transportation said the roadway will be closed along the southbound lanes in Dutchess County between Exit 47 and Exit 45 in the town of Lagrangeville. Click here for an updated story: Pickup Truck Driver Cited In Route 17 Crash With School Bus In Sullivan A stretch of Route 17 has reopened after five students and two adults on a school bus were injured during a two-vehicle crash in which the school bus overturned. It happened around 7:45 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 20, in Sullivan County eastbound in Mamakating between the bus and a pickup truck, state police said. The injuries were reported as being minor. Route 17 was closed eastbound between Exits 112 and 113 in Mamakating for about two hours. The lanes reopened just before 10 a.m.
