17-Year-Old Dies On First Day Of Varsity Football Practice In Hudson Valley
A 17-year-old high school football player in the Hudson Valley following varsity football practice. Miguel Antonio Lugo, of Wallkill, died after Wallkill High School's first practice of the year on Monday, March 1, according to his family. A cause of death has not been released. Some of Orange County's best and brightest students were among those chosen as semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program, which celebrates the academic achievements of high schoolers. Port Jervis Native Matthew Gillis Dies At 25
Matthew Gillis of Port Jervis died on Saturday, Jan. 20 surrounded by his family at Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey. He was 25. Matthew graduated from Wallkill High School in 2011. He was the manager at the Quick Chek in Wantage, NJ for several years until he left on disability. Matthew hobbies are golf, NASCAR, his favorite driver Martin Truex Jr., he loved his Ford truck, enjoyed spending time with his friends especially Dylan, he loved all sports and was a very outdoorsman.
