The incident occurred in Dutchess County in Pleasant Valley around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, July 26. According to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police, troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2014 Ford Taurus northbound on the Taconic Parkway for violations of the vehicle and traffic law. It happened on the southbound side around 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4 in Pleasant Valley just south of Exit 54 (Route 44). An investigation revealed a 2019 Mercedes Sprinter, operated by Jim George, 42, of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, was driving north in the southbound lanes and struck a 2017 Subaru Impreza, state police said. Severe Deterioration Leads To Closure Of Busy Area Bridge The Mill Lane Bridge in the Town of Pleasant Valley has been closed to all traffic, the Dutchess County Department of Public Works announced on Wednesday, March 27. This closure is the result of a New York State Department of Transportation inspection, which found “severe deterioration” of the bridge’s steel girders. The bridge, which is located toward the southern end of Mill Lane at the Parksville Road and Drake Road intersection, has a daily traffic count of around 140 vehicles. New Update: Two-Alarm Fire Damages Pleasant Valley Library, Route 44 Remains Closed Traffic is being diverted on Route 44 as a two-alarm fire ripped through the Pleasant Valley Free Library on Main Street. The fire, which began around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, is believed to have started in the basement, but the building quickly became engulfed in smoke, with smoke coming out of the top of the building.
