Expect Delays: Roadwork Alert Issued In Rockland
Motorists will want to take note that a busy roadway will be experiencing delays as resurfacing get underway on Wednesday, July 6. Rockland County officials report that Reservoir Road in the town of Stony Point will experience delays and periodic closures from Central Drive to W. Central Street beginning at 7:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 6. Drivers are advised to take alternate routes and expect delays.

Drunk Driver Crashes Into Guardrail In Stony Point, Police Say
A Stony Point man was nabbed for alleged aggravated DWI after crashing into a guardrail. Anthony Hewitt, 50, was arrested around 9:45 p.m. Sunday, March 3, after Stony Point Police officers responded to a call of a one-vehicle crash into a guardrail on Reservoir Road in Stony Point, said Stony Point Police Lt. Daniel Hylas. When police arrived on the scene, Hewitt allegedly admitted to drinking alcohol, had slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet, Hylas said. Man Faces DWI Charge After One-Car Crash In Stony Point
A 53-year-old local man was charged with driving while intoxicated after a one-car crash. Kevin Schmoeger of Stony Point was arrested at 3:48 p.m. Wed., Oct. 31, after the crash on Reservoir Road, said Stony Point Police Lt. Daniel Hylas. Once on the scene, an officer found that Schmoeger was intoxicated, according to Hylas. He provided a breath sample, which indicated a blood alcohol content of .08 or above the legal limit, Hylas said. He was charged with DWI and released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 15.
