Hudson Valley Woman Admits To Stealing $51,000 Of Her Dead Mother’s Pension
A Hudson Valley woman has admitted to grand larceny after stealing more than $50,000 of her mother's state pension money.
Orange County resident Valerie White, 58, of Middletown, pleaded guilty on Thursday, April 14, and was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $51,532.64, which is the total funds that White illegally stole from the state pension system, said the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

Man Sentenced For Starting Fire At Hudson Valley Residence Where He Lived With Girlfriend
A man has been sentenced after he pleaded guilty to setting fire to an apartment where he and his girlfriend lived.
Larry Hickmon, age 30, of Middletown, was sentenced on Thursday, March 24, to 18 years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision, according to Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.
Hickmon pleaded guilty to second-degree arson on Thursday, Jan. 27, in connection with the May 17 fire at an apartment complex on Concord Lane in Middletown.

A brand-new Hudson Valley coffee shop is preparing for its grand opening and ribbon-cutting event.
Coffee Barn, located in Orange County, will hold a ribbon-cutting event at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, according to an announcement from the City of Middletown Mayor's Office.
