Person On Tracks Hit By Train In Hudson Valley, Officials Say An MTA train hit a person on the tracks, causing a serious leg wound. According to the MTA, the incident took place around 11:35 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 9, when the southbound Croton-Harmon-bound train struck the person at the Breakneck Ridge station in Fishkill in Dutchess County. Man Airlifted To Westchester Medical Center After Being Hit By Metro-North Train A man received serious injuries to his leg after being struck by a work train heading north to Poughkeepsie. The incident took place around 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, near the Metro-North Breakneck Ridge Station, said Meredith Daniels, a spokeswoman for the MTA.  When police and first responders arrived on the scene they found the man had sustained leg injuries and he was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center, Daniels said. Trains on the Hudson Line were delayed 15 to 20 minutes as a result of the incident. The MTA police are investigating the incident.

Metro-North experienced delays into and out of Grand Central Terminal due to a speed restriction resulting from track work starting at the tail end of the morning commute and continuing into the early afternoon. In a statement issued just before 8:30 a.m., Metro-North advised customers on the Harlem, Hudson and New Haven lines to listen for announcements at local stations. Delays were as long as 20 minutes at times.

A Metro-North spokesperson identified 29-year-old Yonkers resident Joseph Lanza as the unauthorized man who was struck and killed by a train at approximately 12:24 p.m. on Thursday, April 5 on the tracks just south of the Beacon station.
