Hudson Valley Man Called City Office, Threatened To Shoot Cops, Police Say
A Hudson Valley man is facing criminal charges after allegedly threatening to shoot police officers.
Ulster County resident Masani Gordon, of Saugerties, was arrested Thursday, July 8, following an investigation by Saugerties Police.
Investigators said the 26-year-old called the Town of Saugerties Supervisor’s Office in June 2022 and threatened to shoot members of the city’s police force.
Police did not say what, if anything, may have prompted the threat.
Gordon was charged with making terroristic threats, a felony, and ordered held at the Ulster County jail without bail.
Duo Nabbed In Area With Loaded Shotgun, Child In Vehicle, Police Say
Two men are facing criminal charges after they were allegedly caught with a loaded shotgun in their car in the area, police said.
Dutchess County residents Christopher Craft Sr., age 55, and Jeremy Craft, age 32, both of Rhinebeck, were arrested following a traffic stop Wednesday, April 20, in Hyde Park.
New York State Police said troopers initially stopped their van on State Route 9 for “numerous violations” before finding the loaded Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun inside.
Both men had prior criminal convictions that barred them from possessing a firearm, police said.

64-Year-Old Hudson Valley Man Accused Of Raping Child
A 64-year-old Hudson Valley man has been arrested for allegedly raping a child, police announced.
Dutchess County resident Gary Cowperthwaite, age 64, of Red Hook, was arrested by state police on Friday, March 11, after the department received a tip.
An investigation into the tip determined that Cowperthwaite sexually assaulted a child, Trooper AJ Hicks said.
He was charged with rape and two counts of a criminal sex act, all felonies, Hicks said.

A man and woman from New York are facing felony charges after authorities said they both presented fake COVID-19 vaccination cards to attend a Buffalo Bills game.
Michael Naab, age 34, and 37-year-old Amber Naab, both of West Seneca, were arraigned on Tuesday, Jan. 25, and each charged with one count of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, which is a Class D felony, the Erie County District Attorney John Flynn announced.
