Two-Alarm Fire Causes Extensive Damage To Home In Area
A home in the area sustained heavy damage during a fire that had flames shooting out of the roof. The two-alarm fire started around 12:30 a.m., Sunday, April 4, in Orange County at 115 Meadow Hill Road in the City of Newburgh, said the Orange-Lake Fire District. Historic Newburgh Home Damaged In Fire
Something as simple as a working smoke detector could have made a huge difference in the outcome of a three-alarm fire that left a historic City of Newburgh home in ruins, according to City of Newburgh Fire Chief Terry Ahlers, "It's sad when one of the last pieces of Newburgh history of this type is claimed by fire," Ahlers said.
