Passenger Seriously Injured, Motorist From Rockland Jailed After DWI Crash, Prosecutor Says A salesman at a Rockland County auto dealership was jailed after authorities said he crashed his vehicle at a Bergen County Park – seriously injuring his female passenger – while under the influence of alcohol. Alex Cruz, age 33, of Suffern, lost control of the motorcycle in Paramus at the Forest Avenue entrance to Van Saun Park shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Paramus Rescue Squad Frees Victim In Crash PARAMUS, N.J. -- Members of the Paramus Rescue Squad extricated a trapped passenger following a two-car crash Sunday afternoon. A Paramus EMS ambulance took the victim to Hackensack University Medical Center after a Toyota Corolla he was in collided with a Ford SUV at the intersection of Forest and Oradell avenues. Tow trucks removed both vehicles. Paramus and Oradell police and borough firefighters also responded. Boyd A. Loving contributed to this article.
