Alert Issued For Missing 11-Year-Old Westchester Girl
An 11-year-old Westchester County girl has gone missing and authorities are asking the public's help in locating her.
Verenizet Calero, who is believed to be endangered, was last seen on East Columbus Avenue in the town of West Harrison at 6:15 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 16, authorities announced.
She was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a gray T-shirt, light blue shorts, a light blue surgical mask and was carrying a black backpack, Harrison Police said.
She may attempt to travel to Elizabeth, New Jersey, said, according to police.

FBI Seeks Help Finding More Victims Of Jersey Pimp Who Beat, Raped Escorts
ALERT: For several years, an Elizabeth man lured out-of-state escorts to New Jersey with promises of tens of thousands of dollars for sex, then choked, raped and threatened them, federal authorities charged.
The FBI captured Jose Torres, 43, after finding four victims, but they believe there are many more.
The bureau and the Department of Homeland Security are asking the public for help identifying them.
The victims may be in New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts, as well as in New Hampshire, South Carolina and California, among other states, federal authorities said.

Nyack Man Charged In Theft Of $150,000 Worth Of Copper From Hardware Manufacturer
A Nyack man conspired with two accomplices to steal more than $150,000 worth of copper from a North Jersey hardware manufacturer, authorities charged.
Police arrested the trio after a manager at Elgen/Capital Hardware Inc. in the Bergen County town of Closter reported large quantities of copper missing from the business.
Now-former employee Eliseo Adorno, 47, worked with Alvaro Baca, 27, of Roselle, New Jersey, who was the company's shipping manager, and trucker Dimitris M. Hatsis, also 27, of Norwalk, Connecticut, to steal the metal, authorities said.

Toys 'R' Us Will Shut Down 182 Stores, Including One In Westchester
Toys "R" Us, which filed for bankruptcy last fall, plans to close as many as 182 outlets, about one-fifth of its total number of stores across the country, according to a court filing late Tuesday.
A shift by customers to online shopping and increased competition led to the move, the Wayne, New Jersey-based company said.
