Talks of an illegal summer football competition between Don Bosco Prep and St. John Vianney has prompted an investigation by the NJSIAA, NJ.com reports. Interscholastic activity, which the organization prohibits during summer months, was captured on video between the school's "legal" teams at Kean University, the article says citing NJSIAA Executive Director Larry White. Services Set For Bergen Catholic Alum Cyrus Ashtyani Killed In Crash
A funeral was held Thursday, June 21 for Cyrus John Ashtyani of Montvale, who died on June 15 in a Woodcliff Lake motorcycle accident. He was 21 years old. Interment was at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. Ashtyani, a Bergen Catholic graduate who worked as an Internet sales consultant at Liberty Subaru, was heading south when he lost control of his Yamaha R6 at milepost 169.6, NJ State Police Trooper Alejandro Goez said.
