Clarkstown South Student Wins Prize at National History Competition

CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Sharon Mathew, a senior at Clarkstown South High School, won second place in the nation for her website submission to the senior level of the 2015 National History Day Competition.

Sharons's website is "Frances Oldham Kelsey - a Woman Doctor Who Could Not Be Hurried", is about the doctor who refused to grant U.S. approval for thalidomide.

Students from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, and international schools across the world submitted websites.
