Kevork Manougian, 24, was arrested when police responded to 102 Lake Road around 4:15 a.m. for a report of a man with a gun, said Officer Peter Walker.
When officers arrived they found five men having a verbal dispute over a past relationship. An investigation into the dispute found that at some point, Manougian left the scene and returned with the Rock River Arms AR-15 assault rifle and pointed it at one of the men, Walker said.
The rifle was fully loaded and a round was in the chamber, Walker added.
The victim, a 26-year-old male from Congers, was not injured.
Manougian was charged with two counts of felony criminal possession of a weapon, felony criminal possession of an assault weapon and menacing, Walker said.
He was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court and is being held at Rockland County Jail on $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, Jan. 25.
