Bardonia Woman Killed After Being Hit By Car In New City

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Bardonia woman who was hit by a car Monday while walking along Route 304 in New City died Tuesday from her injuries, according to Clarkstown Police.

Nancy Rico, 63, was found lying in the roadway by Clarkstown Police officers responding to the scene around 6:20 p.m., said Officer Peter Walker.

Rico was transported by Nanuet Ambulance to Nyack Hospital where she died from her injuries early Tuesday, Walker said.

The driver of the vehicle, a 42-year-old Monsey resident, did stop and remain at the scene, Walker added. His name has not been released.

The Clarkstown Police Accident Investigation Team responded to process the scene. Route 304 remained closed until 11:00 p.m., but has since completely reopened.

The investigation is still ongoing and no tickets or arrests have been made, Walker said.
