The overflow was said to be dumping sweage into a catch basin that leads to the Hudson River, according to officials.

The manhole was blocked by what appeared to be a rag material. The blockage created an overflow of approximately 10 gallons of water and sewage per minute, officials said.

It is unknown if public areas were impacted by the overflow.
