Townhome Fire Injures Two, Destroys Bedroom In Hudson Valley A fire destroyed a second-story bedroom in a townhome in the Hudson Valley, causing injuries to the residents, including burns and respiratory problems.  The incident occurred in Poughkeepsie around 6:10 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 12, at 13 Tall Tree Lane. Arlington Fire District Deputy Chief Adam Kangas said firefighters arrived at the townhome in under six minutes and found a bedroom on fire.  Kangas said firefighters could contain the fire in the bedroom and controlled the blaze by 8 a.m. Two occupants, who were displaced, were transported to local hospitals for respiratory and burn …

Millions Of Bissell Steam Cleaners Sold Nationwide Recalled Due To Burn Risk Millions of steam cleaners that may be too hot to handle and were sold nationwide are being recalled after more than 150 burn injuries were reported. An alert was issued by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) advising that BISSELL Steam Shot Handheld Steam Cleaners are being recalled, which can leak hot water or steam onto users, posing a possible burn hazard. Approximately 3.2 million units are subject to the recall. According to CPSC, the recall includes multiple models in the model series 39N7 and 2994.
