A 4-month-old girl sustained life-threatening injuries, and two others were seriously injured after the car they were in left the roadway and struck a tree head-on in the region. The incident occurred in Ulster County at 10:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, on Libertyville Road in the town of New Paltz. Several people were nabbed on drunk driving charges in the Hudson Valley over the holiday weekend, including a Westchester woman rescued from a rolled-over car and a taxi driver, police said. Man Rescued After Crashing 60 Feet Down Into Rocky Embankment In Hudson Valley
A man had to be carried around 60 feet up a rocky Hudson Valley gorge after crashing into it, authorities said. The crash happened in Putnam County on Sunday, Oct. 6, when an all-terrain vehicle crashed down a cliff in Cold Spring at the gorge on Mill Road, according to the North Highlands Fire Department. Arriving firefighters soon made their way to the cliff and packaged the man into a stokes basket before carrying him around 60 feet up the ledge to an awaiting ambulance. An 18-year-old from Northern Westchester who admitted to stabbing two teenagers, one of whom died during a fight that started on social media, will spend time in prison, the District Attorney’s Office announced. Police are investigating a shooting that injured two men during a large gathering in West Haverstraw.
