Fire Damages Popular Tarrytown Restaurant
A blaze at a Westchester restaurant damaged the building and left part of a busy road closed to traffic. The fire happened on Tuesday morning, Oct. 29, when a blaze broke out at a building housing the Tarry Tavern at 27 Main St. in Tarrytown, according to village officials. An overnight earthquake startled some residents and shook buildings in Westchester. The United States Geological Survey said it had a magnitude of 2.2, was centered near the border of Hastings-on-Hudson and Yonkers, about 18 miles north of midtown Manhattan, and was felt at around 1:53 a.m. Friday, May 19.
